Efriza Analyzes the Closeness of Jokowi-Prabowo-Gibran at Indonesia's Independence Day
The moment of togetherness between former President Jokowi, President Prabowo Subianto, and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the 81st Indonesian Independence Day was analyzed by Citra Institute senior researcher Efriza. He assessed that it is not yet a political signal for 2029.
Citra Institute Senior Researcher Efriza stated that the moment of togetherness between former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), President Prabowo Subianto, and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka during the 81st Indonesian Independence Day was not yet proof of a political configuration towards the 2029 Election.
He conveyed this to JPNN.com on Thursday (20/8/2026).
Efriza assessed that the visualization of the closeness of these three figures is more appropriately viewed as a message of harmony and stability.
According to him, this could make Jokowi-Gibran supporters "feel entitled or GR" as if it were a signal for two terms of Prabowo-Gibran.
Some Jokowi-Gibran supporters, Efriza said, might interpret the moment as a symbol of the strong relationship between the three figures.
Another interpretation also allows the visualization to be a symbol that Prabowo is still close to Jokowi.
However, Efriza reminded that the change in their seating positions does not automatically relate to the political design of the 2029 Presidential Election.
"Whereas it was merely togetherness due to situational seat filling conducted by state protocol," he said.
On the other hand, the momentum was also considered to have a psychological effect on PDIP. Efriza mentioned that PDIP is encouraged not to be late in preparing an alternative political scenario.
