PKS Supports Prabowo Recruiting Professionals, PDIP, President's Prerogative Right

Chairman of the PKS Election Victory Body (Bappilu), Mardani Ali Sera, supports President Prabowo Subianto to recruit new people into his cabinet who have strong capabilities, without necessarily being from political parties. This statement comes amid rumors circulating about a cabinet reshuffle by President Prabowo after August 17, 2026.
Mardani Ali Sera told reporters on Sunday, August 9, 2026, that the decision to reshuffle is the president's prerogative, but the merit system needs to be the primary consideration. He emphasized the importance of bureaucratic reform that is "lean in structure and rich in function" within the government.
According to Mardani, President Prabowo has a heavy task, considering the results of several recent surveys showing a decline in public satisfaction with the government's performance. Therefore, he supports the government recruiting new people into the "Kabinet Merah Putih" (Red and White Cabinet).
Mardani Ali Sera added that priority should be given to individuals with integrity and capabilities known to the public. "If professionals are needed, they don't have to be party members. There are many qualified children of the nation," he said.
Responding to the issue, Chairman of the PDIP DPP, Andreas Hugo Pareira, stated that the decision to reshuffle the cabinet is entirely the president's prerogative. Andreas conveyed this to reporters on Monday, August 10, 2026.
Andreas also emphasized that whether a cabinet reshuffle is necessary, including who needs to be replaced and who will replace them, is entirely within President Prabowo's authority.
